SIBO: update on diagnosis and management

August 15, 2019 at 1:30 pm P.T.

SIBO is not a straight-forward condition to diagnose and treat. It tends to be relapsing and recurrent in the majority of cases. Comprehensive treatment directed at modifiable causative factors is essential for long-term success. In this update Iíll share my clinical experience and the lessons Iíve learned from experts in the field. Attendees will be given the evidence-based information and resources they need to provide state-of-the art care for their patients with this common condition.

Dr Michael Traub graduated from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in 1981. Since 1986, Dr. Traub has been medical director of Lokahi Health Center, an integrative healthcare center in Kailua Kona, Hawaii. He is board-certified in naturopathic oncology and homeopathy. In 1986, Dr. Traub was appointed to the staff of North Hawaii Community Hospital, becoming the first naturopathic physician in contemporary times to hold such a position. Dr. Traub served as President of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians from 2001 to 2003. In 2006, he was honored by the AANP as Physician of the Year. Dr. Traub has held numerous other leadership positions within the naturopathic profession and in integrative health-care organizations. Dr. Traub's research includes homeopathic growth factors in HIV and AIDS, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, integrative breast cancer treatment, paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria in bone marrow failure syndromes, hypovitaminosis D and elderberry extract for prevention of influenza. He has presented at numerous medical conferences, including the 1999 International Conference on HIV/AIDS in Paris.
He is the author of two textbooks on dermatology, has contributed to several other integrative medicine textbooks and serves on the editorial board of the Natural Medicine Journal and the International Journal of Naturopathic Medicine.
