Webinar | Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth and Rosacea: The Gut-Skin Connection by Dr Michael Traub, ND, DHANP, FABNO

Increasing evidence suggests that the gut-skin axis is implicated in the pathogenesis of rosacea. Sufficient data exists to support the concept that the gut microbiome plays a role in the inflammatory cutaneous response and there appears to be associations with small intestinal bacterial overgrowth and Helicobacter pylori infection. A dysbiotic microbiome and an innate immune system dysregulation contribute to the pathophysiology of rosacea. Greater understanding of this connection between the gut-skin axis could allow for more efficacious and timely treatment.
Fish Oil During Pregnancy Lowers Risk for Asthma in Children by Dr Tori Hudson, ND

Researchers in this study examined the use of fish oil during pregnancy to determine if it could prevent asthma in their children. A total of 736 pregnant Danish women were randomized to receive either 2.4 g per day of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) derived from a fish oil supplement, or a placebo, during the third trimester. Their children, 695 of them, were then followed for five years.

Anxiety Disorders and Lavender by Dr Tori Hudson, ND

Anxiety disorders are the most prevalent psychiatric condition in the United States. Biological factors, family history, stressful life experiences, and/or trauma are all potential causes. We could likely say these days that the world we live in is a cause for anxiety, even if the stressful circumstances aren’t an immediate experience we are having. Being surrounded by those who are suffering from poverty, racism, and homelessness, watching the degradation of civility in our society, knowing that the Earth and it’s flora and fauna are suffering and becoming extinct due to climate change; it’s all too much to bear at times and contributes to general anxiety.

Product-Focused Webinar | Focus on Anxiety, Depression and Insomnia by Dr Cameron McIntyre, ND

In recent years “mental hygiene” has experienced a resurgence, growing increasingly popular in personal development circles, and in many ways has begun to overlap with the nuances of mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and insomnia. We are a product of our time. Therapy has its place and can be enormously helpful. However, it is at best only a steppingstone, and at worst becomes a diversion in which we become trapped for a long time, even our entire lives—the obsession with fixing ourselves. It is what compels many people to seek out therapy so it should be understood as a natural motivating force. Used in the best way, the “urge to change” becomes a deep curiosity about one’s character and essential nature. The point of this webinar is to illuminate beyond the quality of self-improvement and understand the nature of self-rejection as it relates to the impoverishing quality of mental health conditions.
